Brandon Gilbert is the Sales & Marketing Director and the Community Outreach Coordinator at Holston & Huntley law firm in Atlanta, Georgia. A renowned and admired public servant, Gilbert has had a distinguished career personal injury and criminal for 15 years. After years of mounting legal victories against some of the country’s largest corporations, he became a business and legal consultant. Gilbert holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Florida A&M University (FAMU)and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from FAMU College of Law.
He was recognized as one of the nation’s Top ‘40 Under 40 Best Advocates’ by the National Bar Association. Gilbert has been heralded as a “Platinum Client Champion” and “Preeminent Attorney” by Martindale-Hubbell. He has been deemed a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers. For his community volunteerism in the legal community, Gilbert was tapped by the Florida Supreme Court as the “Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year” His crowning achievement came when FAMU selected him as a “Distinguished Alumni” of the University at the age of 37. Gilbert is respected throughout the United States and internationally for his keen insights on the law and his advocacy for the education of minority students, and his unique and visionary approaches to producing successful professional, political, and educational outcomes. He is in high demand as a keynote and motivational speaker. He has traveled all over the country delivering addresses at a myriad of events. Gilbert has delivered addresses at Ivy League Institutions such as Harvard and Brown Universities, respectively. Also, he has spoken at The Citadel, and UNC-Chapel Hill to name a few. Gilbert was featured at Harvard University to speak on a panel regarding the challenges of reentry of offenders released from prison. The panel was comprised or several Ivy League Professors speaking about combating and resolving the problems presented. Gilbert centers his messages on: Dreaming, Faith, Perseverance, and Community Involvement. Gilbert has also he has volunteered his time and expertise to in a number of charitable organizations. Brandon has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Top 100 Black Lawyers Continuing Legal Education Committee. He also has worked with the Alabama Statewide Organization of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated as its Deputy Counselor. Gilbert served three terms as the President of the FAMU College of Law Alumni Alliance where his board helped raised over $100,000 in scholarships. Gilbert was named Alabama Statewide ‘Omega Man of the Year’ and back to back ‘Omega Man of the Year’ by the Kappa Beta Beta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi. For his efforts with the NAACP, the Jackson County Youth Council named its ‘Student of the Year’ Award after Gilbert. Additionally, Phi Alpha Delta erected a monument in his honor on the campus of FAMU College of Law. As a mentor, Gilbert has created the Jackson County Omega Lamplighters and The F.L.A.M.E. Academy. The Lamplighters and FLAME are a mentoring group for males sponsored by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, of which he is a proud Life Member. In his work in building these programs, Gilbert has taken young males from the rural farms of North Florida to The White House in Washington, DC. Each year, the kids are treated to a cross country trip that teaches them about The Civil Rights Movement as well as introduces them to college campuses. Several of his Lamplighters/FLAME have excelled in the program and were invited to participate in the New England Science Symposium sponsored by Harvard Medical School. He currently serves as the Co-Chair of the MIRROR 100 Black Men of the South Metro Atlanta Chapter. Gilbert is the father of two, Madison and Maddox, and is the son of the late Johnnie Lee and Carnell C. Gilbert. He is also the godson of Ulysses and the late Glenda Dudley. He is a member of House of Hope Atlanta where the Rev. E. Dewey Smith is his pastor.
